Grrr.... this movie is ridiculous!

Look at these pictures from the upcoming movie called Amish Grace set to air on March 28th on Lifetime. I have been to an Amish worship service and church lunch twice in my life. I have NEVER seen flowers on the table. Plus there wouldn't be wash hanging out on the line. Nor do these outfits fit the style of Lancaster county! Ugh.... sigh....... Plus, the church scene in the barn is a little disturbing too. Most Amish meet in a "company shed" or if they do meet in a barn, it would be swept up without straw on the floor. This film is making a lot of people hot under the collar.

  1. I really have to cringe when ever I watch "Amish" movies because they are so far from being real.

I might have to watch this just to see how totally ridiculous it is.

  2. If you look through the barn door, you see two different styles of buggy, one with a rounded top. And what's the horse doing out there? And if it's Lancaster County, why aren't the buggies lined up axle to axle just so? I love how the girls' coverings aren't starched, too. LOL.

  3. Over all the movie wasn't as bad as I predicted. I think we just have to tell ourselves it was just that.... a movie. Not completely real occurances. It was embellished a bit. Ida was a little too comfortable lashing out at her hubby. (a no no) and I had to laugh when Ida slept in her cap and Gideon milked the cow in his mutza (or sunday) coat! ha! Also, in... See More the beginning of the movie, no one bakes pies or lets laundry out to dry on Sundays! :) lol Oh well. I guess we just chalk it up to Hollywood. I am glad they had a happy ending and prooved the point of forgiveness.

  4. I just wish they would have had the actors learn the accent that bothered me through the whole moving . As a former Amish driver ( until I moved away) This movie was soooooo far off. But the plot was decent. And as you said leave it Hollywood.

  5. I agree Cortney. Maybe it's good they didn't try to mimic the accent. They probably would have just really butchered it and made it really silly. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Blessings to you.
